"I think oftentimes cities pilot different smart solutions just to look innovative to their citizens. If we have a closer look, cities do not learn much from such pilots. If city administrations really aim to improve public services and the life of the residents then they need to be more inclusive and think more about the design of the pilots."

Jaanus Müür

Jaanus Müür (MA) is a PhD student in the Ragnar Nurkse Department of Innovation and Governance. He is interested in innovation policy and smart cities, especially how cities can participate in innovation policy. Previously he has worked in Tallinn Enterprise Department. Jaanus has also been involved with organizing autonomous bus pilots as part of the Sohjoa Baltic and Sohjoa Last Mile projects.
